Caption The Shah Mokhdum Textile Mills Limited, popularly known as Mohini Mill starts its operation nearly 22 years after its shutdown. In 1908, Babu Mohini Mohon Chakrabarty had established the mill on 33 acres of land in the district town. Once it became the largest and famous textile industry in South Asia for its quality products. After independence in 1971, the government nationalised the mill in 1972 and its operation started under the supervision of the Bangladesh Textile Mill Corporation (BTMC). Later, it was decided in a cabinet meeting to shut down the mill on June 12, 1981 because of corruption and loss. Later, the mill was closed on February 5 in 1982. Kushtia, Bangladesh.
