Menai suspension bridge was built by Thomas Telford (1757-1834) and opened in 1826. Telford first proposed this bridge between the island of Anglesey and Snowdonia in 1810, because the loss of lives through crossing the water had become too many. Francis Bedford (1816-1894) photographed architectural views and landscapes around Britain and the Middle East. He was a co-founder of the Royal Photographic Society in 1853., 7034616
