The prices are unbeatably cheap. Der Divisoria Markt in den Stadtteilen Tondo und Binondo ist einer der bekanntesten Märkte der Philippinen und der größte Straßenmarkt Manilas. Neben Verkaufsständen für Kleidung und Computerzubehör gibt es auch einen sogenannten Wet-Market für Fisch, Fleisch und Gemüse, wo sich die Restaurants und Läden der Stadt eindecken zu unschlagbar günstigen Preisen. Vor allem am Abend und nachts ist hier Hochbetrieb. Wegen der Nähe zu den Armenvierteln in Tondo arbeiten viele Tagelöhner und auch Kinder als Porter und Helfer zum Schälen von Gemüse und Früchten. Einige Kinder sind auch auf der Suche nach Resten von unverkäuflichem Gemüse, das sie von den Händlern erbetteln. Wahrscheinlich gibt es auch Straßenkinder, die auf sich allein gestellt sind. In dem Chaos der Verkaufsstände ist es schwer einen Überblick zu behalten. Auf jeden Fall hat sich der Markt inmitten von Chinatown als Großhandel von Metro Manila etabliert.
