Kolossi Castle
Titel Kolossi Castle
Caption Kolossi is a Crusader castle 14 kilometers west of Limassol in Cyprus. After the Knights Hospitallers, the castle belonged to the Templars in 1306 - 1310, who established their new headquarters, the Grand Commandry. From the word Commandry derives the name of the area and the wine Commandaria produced there. The sweet Commandaria was exported in large quantities to European princely courts in the Middle Ages. Commandaria is the oldest continuously produced wine and the oldest brand-name wine in the world. , 8472878
