Caption A male doll in female clothes triggered panic among Christmas shoppers: ‘There was more to the pretty doll than met the eye. And yesterday it got her banned from stores up and down the country. For beneath the frills and lace was a little extra that could turn a Christmas morning surprise into a bit of a shock. Bosses of Lewis’s store chain got a shock when the Daily Star pointed out that the “little girl”� dolls were really “little boys”� underneath. And they immediately sent out an order to all 10 of their British stores: “Get them off the shelves”�. The Italian-made dolls are dressed in blue crochet dresses and come complete with a ribboned cape and apron. Confusingly they are called Robby.”�, 7028947
