A photograph of the Coronation Coach in Dean's Yard near Westminster Abbey, London, taken by an unknown photographer in May 1937. Built in 1762, the Gold State Coach has been used at every Coronation since George IV. The coach weighs four tons and is 24 feet long and 12 feet high. It is gilded and features painted panels by Giovanni Cipriani and rich gilded sculpture including three cherubs on the roof and four tritons, one at each corner. This photograph is from an album compiled by Kodak Limited to record the Coronation of King George VI (1895-1952) and Queen Elizabeth (1900-2002) on 12 May 1937., 7022766
