Edward John Bevan (1856-1921), co-inventor of the viscose rayon process. Bevan patented the viscose process of rayon manufacture with Charles Frederick Cross (1855-1935) in 1892. The process uses cellulose (wood-pulp) which is dissolved and then regenerated. The result is used to form yarn (rayon) which can be used for clothing, or film (cellophane)., 6976311
