At the end of the Foinikoudes promenade stands the castle of Larnaka, probably built in the Middle Ages. The fortress was supposed to protect the port of the city in southeast Cyprus. Used by the English colonial rulers as a prison, the fort now houses a small medieval museum., 6523067
