Caption CAMBODIA Farmhouse with rice growing in foreground. Climate change has impacted farmers in Prek Pi village, Srer Chea commune. Although they say they do not understand the casuses of strange rainfall patterns in recent years, these farmers are certainly suffering. In 2010 there was a drought at the time when the rice seedlings were being cultivated, so many were lost and could not be transplanted. For those farmers who were able to grow seedlings, further problems ensued when harvest time came as there were unusual heavy rains which flooded the paddy fields, creating a poor yield, mold destroying some of the grains and making harvest conditions difficult with so much water around. Kao Nam's rice field was damaged by wind and rain at harvest time. Here she is shown trying to salvage her crop which was blown into the water-logged field and in danger of rotting. photo by Sean Sprague CDREF00847, 8636193
